This bar is a long time favorite and such a classic that it wouldn’t be fair not to put it on the list. Dry Martini was opened by Don Pere Carbonell in 1978 – so not a new place. Now it is owned and operated by Javier de las Muelas. The bar first started with Dry Martini theme however now has a big range of different cocktails –which all carefully crafted. The staff is professional, service is great, music is not too loud. It’s the perfect place to stop by before a pre-dinner drink.

3. BOBBY’S FREE
When you look at it from outside, you can actually misunderstand the sign of this bar. Below its name, there is a thing saying it’s also a barber shop. The thing is when you book a spot in Bobby’s, you will receive a password and you can’t go into the bar unless you say the password. Isn’t this super cool? Well, if you come inside it is a total cocktail heaven. Bartenders dressed up in blacks and red suspenders. The nice side about this password entrance is “barber” who opens the door for you, makes sure that the place is not crowded – so everybody can feel at ease.

Another great place from Javier de las Muales. Gimlet was the first venue that he opened up and after he continued his passion by opening other bars such as Dry Martini. Gimlet is still a very popular place among locals; you can see barely any tourists there. Staff is passionate and professional. It’s more what you like I will make kind of menu here especially for cocktails. It’s a calm, cozy place that you can enjoy for after-dinner drinks.

5. EL ARMARIO
The wardrobe –that’s what it is. The only location information that is known about this place is it’s somewhere in El Raval neighborhood. The location is literally unknown by now. It’s one of the secrets bars of Barcelona – which is thought to be around 40. When you find the wardrobe, you will climb through a wall to reach a hidden small bar. Unless you reach the target you can never know if the bar is open or not. However, we believe that it is worth spending the time to find the place –as you can experience this small adventure and then relax there with a gin-tonic.

Boadas is one of the oldest cocktail bars in Barcelona. When you enter inside you will feel like you are traveling back in time. This quirky bar is another place which is hard to reach. Even though it will take time to find it, you will definitely like the atmosphere here. It’s fun but mystical at the same time. You will feel like you are in a laboratory here. The bartenders are like a scientist – who are carefully executing your cocktails like an important experiment. The walls are covered with bottles and jars– homemade alcohols and bitters. The cocktails here mostly contain strong alcohols as a base rather than light ones.
