Boca Grande is a phenomenal seafood and fish restaurant. There is a spectacular atmosphere when you walk in. There is a glass display full of fish and the bar is carefully lined up with alcohol bottles up till the ceiling. However, there is one more thing you have to see and it’s not on the first floor. Boca Grande is also famous for its restrooms. Yes, you heard it right. An outstanding design will be waiting downstairs for you. If you have heard anything about molecular gastronomy then you have probably heard of Ferran Adria, his restaurant El Bulli, despite being closed is still one of the most famous restaurants in the world! His brother, though, Chef Albert Adria is still a stronghold in the gastronomy scene of Barcelona. If you are looking for unconventional tapas experience, this is where you should be going. 4. ESPAISUCRE
This place is for dessert lovers! It is a place where you can truly enjoy sweets from the beginning of your time here till the end! Espaisucre is a restaurant that is affiliated with a culinary school in the city where students get hands-on practice at working and cooking for a restaurant. Each month students create a new menu with all types of desserts. The tasting menu starts with 3 savory tapas and that is followed by 5 desserts which then finishes with 3 sweet tapas. It’s not a regular culinary experience! It is a very small place with only 12 seats available, so make sure to book a table! Don’t forget to pair your desserts with a great cocktail!

5. FLAX & KALE
Flax and Kale is known for being the first flexitarian cuisine in Barcelona. A flexitarian is someone who follows a vegetarian based diet but very rarely eats meat, poultry or fish products. The menu here is 80% plant-based and the other 20% contains oily fish. The aim of the team is to show everyone that a healthy diet is not hard to achieve. 6. ROBADORA
You will probably remember Robadora for their quirky interior design. It looks as though an old factory was there before. The ceiling is partially covered with posters and there are usually very trendy people here. The menu is more like a tapas bar. You can also ask the service to create a tapas menu for you. Chaka Khan is a great place to experience a blend of different cuisines in one menu. They mostly have African and Asian cuisine here but there are also menus with items from Brazil, Korea, and Iran. This is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in Barcelona. It is now, though, a very cool and trendy spot in the city! This is due to it living up to its name, 7 Portes, which translates to seven doors in English. That’s right, this restaurant actually has seven doors to enter and exit through, which is the way a lot of the restaurants in the 1800s were designed. 11. PASTRAMI BAR
Pastrami Bar probably makes the best pastrami sandwiches in Barcelona! There is always a line here! The menu is very small with only 8-10 items available. It is a simple place with a counter and only a few seats are available. Something else you should know is that is has a secret passage to a hidden bar known as Paradiso. At the left of the bar, you will see a walk-in fridge door, which will lead you to the cocktail bar!

12. PUDDING
Pudding is another gem for a very experiential type of restaurant. It is a literal version of Alice in Wonderland. There are also pieces from scenes in Harry Potter! There is a tree in the middle of the place and also two giant white dotted red mushrooms! Of course, the homemade sweets are great and you can always ask for more. It’s the perfect place for families with little kids!
