El Nacional is the fantastic gastronomic complex in Barcelona which offers you the ultimate Spanish cuisine experience. The complex is made of four bars – wine, beer, oyster and cocktail and four restaurants – braseria, taperia, lljota and parada. Like the bars, each restaurant has a theme. La Braseria’s is meat, La taperia makes tapas, La Lljota focuses on fish and La Parada has fast deli sandwiches and sweets. Each place has their own unique design and interior. Frankly, it’s a pretty fascinating scene. It’s a perfect 8-in-1 option – which is pretty hard to find!

If you have heard anything about molecular gastronomy then you have probably heard of Ferran Adria, his restaurant El Bulli, despite being closed is still one of the most famous restaurants in the world! His brother, though, Chef Albert Adria is still a stronghold in the gastronomy scene of Barcelona. If you are looking for unconventional tapas experience, this is where you should be going. The interior design is very quirky and makes you feel like you’re in Alice in Wonderland. Tickets offer you a literal ticket to the best show you will ever see in a restaurant. If you are fan of Netflix’s Chef’s Table, you will probably know Albert Adrià, Spanish Chef and his famous Michelin one-star restaurant in Barcelona, Tickets. Although he has 4 other restaurants in Barcelona, the most intriguing place to visit for us, ever since we plan this trip was Tickets! We actually were waitlisted when we tried to book it through online and even called to check to see if there’s any opening spot before we left, but there was no hope. 2nd day into our Barcelona trip, we got super lucky by getting a reservation through a waitress in another restaurant of his we visited, Bodega 1900! How thrilled to get a seat at the Tickets and get a chance to have the most fun and exciting dining experience we ever had! If you have followed our stories, you would already seen our amazing night at this place, but I just have to share it again, so here it is: Our night with 16 tapas and 4 dessert dishes in @ticketsbar 🎪🌹🥳🇪🇸
This place is for dessert lovers! It is a place where you can truly enjoy sweets from the beginning of your time here till the end! Espaisucre is a restaurant that is affiliated with a culinary school in the city where students get hands-on practice at working and cooking for a restaurant. Each month students create a new menu with all types of desserts. The tasting menu starts with 3 savory tapas and that is followed by 5 desserts which then finishes with 3 sweet tapas. It’s not a regular culinary experience! It is a very small place with only 12 seats available, so make sure to book a table! Don’t forget to pair your desserts with a great cocktail!

You will probably remember Robadora for their quirky interior design. It looks as though an old factory was there before. The ceiling is partially covered with posters and there are usually very trendy people here. The menu is more like a tapas bar. You can also ask the service to create a tapas menu for you. Plus, the wine selection is great!

9. 7 PORTES
This is one of the oldest and most traditional restaurants in Barcelona. It is now, though, a very cool and trendy spot in the city! This is due to it living up to its name, 7 Portes, which translates to seven doors in English. That’s right, this restaurant actually has seven doors to enter and exit through, which is the way a lot of the restaurants in the 1800s were designed. They also have amazing rice dishes here, especially their paella, enjoy it with a nice bottle of cava or a pitcher of sangria!

Pastrami Bar probably makes the best pastrami sandwiches in Barcelona! There is always a line here! The menu is very small with only 8-10 items available. It is a simple place with a counter and only a few seats are available. Something else you should know is that is has a secret passage to a hidden bar known as Paradiso. There is a tree in the middle of the place and also two giant white dotted red mushrooms! Of course, the homemade sweets are great and you can always ask for more.
