Tonight, June 21, 2019 will mark the official night for Fete de la Musique. The annual festival allows live music to be performed in the streets of cities across France. It is an experience you won’t want to miss out on as there is no limit to the types of music that you will hear on the night! This is the one night of the year when the whole country turns into a huge street party! There are so many events for this day in France and all of them are FREE. In Paris and its surroundings alone, there are 960 events. So, to help you decide where to go, we have listed some of the 5 best events to go to during Fete de la Musique! Some train lines will be running all night as well and so don’t forget to read our transport guide below!
1. Under the Louvre Pyramid
The Orchestra of Paris will be performing for its 10th time by the Louvre Pyramid. The orchestra and their conductor, Daniel Harding will be performing a beautiful and might we add free symphony! They have already released their musical program which will include music from Hector Berlioz and Johannes Brahms. It is sure to be amazing! Please, note that admission is free of charge but there is limited seating available. Guests are also able to sit or stand in the surrounding areas.

2. E-Klozin at Canal Saint Martin
If you want to spend the night listening and dancing to techno music then this is the place for you! E-Klozin which is a DJ collective will be performing live sets on the canal. They have been doing it for the last 7 years and each DJ has their own unique style! So, you will be getting a range of sounds from regular techno to deep house. The canal will be bursting with energy this night, so make sure to join!
Location: 95 Quai de Valmy, 75010 Paris (specifically the area facing the Antonie and Lili store)
3. Hip Hop Night at Wanderlust
Wanderlust is a very well-known and well-loved club in Paris and for Fete de la Musique they will be having a Hip Hop Night! The club, which sits on the bank of the Seine, will be holding both live music and DJ sets dedicated to telling the history of hip hop! There will be classics as well as the new hits in the genre. They will also have two food trucks serving pizza and Jamaican food. Entry is free from 6 pm to 9 pm, however, you will have to pay €20.

4. Jazz Hits at Sunset Sunside
Sunset Sunside is a jazz club that will be praising the legends of jazz for Fete de la Musique! They will be holding a free concert where different jass musicians pay tribute to legends like Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole and Frank Sinatra. It is a night filled with quality jazz music by professionals honoring the musicians who have made the genre what it is! So, grab a drink and dance to the sounds of greats!

5. Fete de la Musique at the Elysée Palace
Why not spend the night in the company of President Emmanuel Macron? The French President is inviting guests to the Elysee Palace for the second year to listen to live music. This year the palace is holding a concert that is lead by female musicians and bands. French indie folk band Brigitte, pop/hip hop singer Iris Gold, Angolan singer Pongo and Irish group Saint Sister are all set to perform. It will be a great variety of music by some truly amazing acts and you might even get a glimpse of the president!

Like every year, RATP, the official operator of Paris’ public transport system, will be keeping some train lines open all night long. That means you won’t need to cut your fun time short to catch the last train at midnight! It is important to know that not all train line will be kept open. Only a few select ones will keep running from 2:15am. If you can’t take a train, you may also take the Paris Night Bus.
