What you’ll find in Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte
History of Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte
The Vaux-le-Victome was obtained and created by Nicholas Fouquet, the superintendent of finance to Louis XIV. He, with the help of some of France’s best painters, architects and landscapers, built the beautiful château and gardens we see today. Its grandness though would eventually lead to Louis XIV’s jealousy of the estate in comparison to his palace. After his short visit, he imprisoned Fouquet and ordered for a renovation of Versailles.
