Alice has found a new Wonderland nestled away in the 19th arrondissement of Paris and guess what? You are all invited to the tea party.
In celebration of the new film release, Alice through the looking glass, Le Pavillon des Canaux has temporarily been completely transformed, from top to bottom, to create a dreamlike Alice in Wonderland grotto, transporting you to the magical world of the infamous novel.
Whether you are an avid Alice in Wonderland fan, or simply looking for a wacky alternative to your regular coffee shop hangout, Le Pavillon des Merveilles is a must-see for all ages. Not one to abide by Parisian café convention, Le Pavillon des Merveilles’ tasteful oddities should be fully embraced, whether that be by having a refreshing home-made lemonade in the bathtub (yes, the bath has really been turned into a seat), an expresso on an ostentatious chaise lounge, or a brunch feast outside on the terrace overlooking the canal.
Wondering through the fun themed rooms and delighting in the (reasonably priced) delicious foodie treats is an adventure in itself, but if you don’t want the fantastical fun to stop there, the Pavillon des Merveilles has organised numerous activities that you can partake in, whether that be playing in their croquet tournament, participating in an exhilarating treasure hunt, or watching a screening of Alice in Wonderland cartoons, there is fun for all ages.
Heads up, this place is popular! Whilst it is fairly unbeknown to tourists, Parisians flock there and service is rushed when you hit weekend brunch time, so if at all possible, try and avoid peak times.
Bar-café-restaurant- creative work space. Ideal for all ages. Child friendly. Good food, reasonably priced. Fun activities organised.
