Paris welcomes more than 30 million visitors a year- and it’s no surprise that pickpocketing is quite rampant, especially in the crowded tourist areas.
Some of the most common places to watch out for pickpockets in Paris are the Eiffel Tower, Louvre, Pyramides, the Tuileries garden area, Pont des Arts, Champs Elysées- especially in the metros in this area; Charles de Gaulle Etoile, George V, Franklin D Roosevelt and in busy metros, especially if you are carrying a suitcase.

In a crowded places like this, the pickpockets in Paris might try one of the many scams such as the ring scam, the “sign my petition” scam or the usual “grab and run” method. They usually will work in pairs, one will try to divert your attention by using of the many scams in Paris, while the other will try to pickpocket you.
