Best locations for accommodation in the Bordeaux area
The Golden Triangle is Bordeaux’s most elegant district and is home to most of the main sites. It stretches from the Place des Quinconces to the Place de la Comedia. Located in the center of the city, in the heart of the historic district, it’s easy to access other neighborhoods. If you’re looking to feel like royalty during your stay in Bordeaux, choose a hotel in the Golden Triangle!
If you’re looking for a cool and creative vibe, we recommend staying in the Chartrons neighborhood. This district was formerly the center for merchants and trading. It remains the epicenter for all things wine. It’s a great base for wine lovers or anyone looking to learn about the famous Bordeaux red wine. Just south of the Historic Center, most of the city’s main sites are easily accessible by tram or on foot.
For a quieter place outside the bustle of Bordeaux, the medieval town of Saint Emilion is a great choice! It’s just a 45 minute drive from Bordeaux and features lovely accommodation from 4-star boutique hotels to family-run bed and breakfasts. Though small, the town has numerous restaurants, shops and bars. It’s perfect for a laid back evening.
